Dear Blacow Families:
Welcome to our 2020-21 school year! As you know, we started this school year in the Distance Learning format. I know that for many of us, this is not the way to start another school year - virtually greeting our teacher and friends. Nonetheless, our teachers and staff are happy to begin another school year! And no matter the format of our learning, we are all in this together and we will persevere! For now we need to practice social distancing, wear a mask and wash our hands constantly - this will help us all be able to return to our school much faster.
Virtual school hours will remain the same as in person school hours. Students are expected to be up, changed, fed and ready to learn by their bell schedule. Attendance will be taken every day. Likewise, minimum day schedules remain the same.
Social, emotional well-being resources: Keeping ourselves and our loved ones physically and mentally well is important. Ms. Camarillo, our school counselor, has provided many resources for parents and students to keep ourselves physically and mentally well during these unprecedented times. Lastly, please be aware that our school office is currently closed. However, the office staff is working remotely and you may reached them by calling and leaving a message at (510) 656-5121 or emailing. Also, please make sure we have your current phone number and email as this will be our mode of communication during distance learning. Don’t forget to continually check the district website for the most current information about the status of our District during the COVID-19 closure. Estimadas Familias de Blacow,
¡Bienvenidos a nuestro año escolar 2020-21! Como saben, comenzamos este año escolar en el formato de Educación a Distancia. Sé que para muchos de nosotros, esta no es la manera de comenzar otro año escolar: saludar virtualmente a nuestros maestros y amigos. No obstante, ¡nuestros maestros y personal están felices de comenzar otro año escolar! Y no importa el formato de nuestro aprendizaje, ¡estamos todos juntos en esto y perseveraremos! Por ahora, debemos practicar el distanciamiento social, usar máscara y lavarnos las manos constantemente; esto nos ayudará a todos a poder regresar a nuestra escuela mucho más rápido.
El horario escolar virtual seguirá siendo el mismo que el horario escolar presencial. Se espera que los estudiantes estén levantados, cambiados, alimentados y listos para aprender según el horario de la escuela. La asistencia se tomará todos los días. Asimismo, los horarios de días mínimos siguen siendo los mismos.
Recursos de bienestar social y emocional: es importante mantenernos a nosotros mismos y a nuestros seres queridos física y mentalmente bien. La Sra. Camarillo, nuestra consejera escolar, ha brindado muchos recursos para que padres y estudiantes se mantengan física y mentalmente bien durante estos tiempos sin precedentes.
